What you may know about the world is false, at least not all of it. In the beginning there was not the word, at least not at first. At first there was Chaldean and Heraclitus together they created the dragons, the Giants, and the titans of old. Chaldean was the mother of everything, she gave birth to Gaia who became one with the earth, and thus creating magic. Eventually the one that would later be known as God created humans, but this was eons after his Angels were created. His power rivaled that of Chaldean and Heraclitus, and so there was nothing to be done. Heraclitus hated that Chaldean loved these abominations, and the evil, the first darkness, inside him grew.
Prometheus eventually borrowed fire from the dragons, and gave it to man. This Eternal Flame still burns today. However, this upset Heraclitus even more, and he curse Prometheus to be bound in the form of the creatures his breathren wared with, a Dragon. It would not be long after that Lucifer decided he would not be cast aside, and asked to serve a mortal. After the war that shook the heavens the angels that decided to follow Lucifer were cast out, and their Angelic powers stripped. Heraclitus offered those that would take it a deal. He gave them powers that rivaled their Angelic might, and in return they would help him destroy Chaldean, and everything she stood for.
Gaia would eventually gift the mortals with a new type of God's, this time in the form of Spirits. However all of this chaos of God's and titans eventually led to a war that shook the very fabric of the Ether itself, leading to a fracture that allowed other dimensional gods to come to this world. These gods decided to rule over a select group of humans, these humans resided in Egypt. Furthermore this led to the creation of new realms, and new creatures being born. In this war of the Aether Chaldean and Heraclitus did battle, causing a collision of absolute power and seemingly destroying the both of them.
Cain would eventually be imprisoned in the moon for the murder of his brother.
