Victor Sanguine, this man was one of the richest men in the world. The money he got, he donated to causes, and helped fund in the building of homeless shelters. The Sanguine corporation would then offer these homeless jobs. The corporation owned many businesses and buildings, from real estate firms, to hospitals. It really seemed like Victor, and his corporation were trying to clean up America.
It was a ploy however, for Victor Sanguine was the right hand of Tartarus. The homeless that got jobs there, were brainwashed, and controlled to be Tartarus's army. Eventually The Sanguine corporation's true intent was revealed by the E.R.A. and Victor Sanguine hunted, and finally imprisoned.
There are still some corporation buildings intact, what most people do not realize is that they contain vaults that hold many powerful artifacts. If anyone were to stumble upon one of these buildings they would have to get through its magic defenses, as well as its sophisticated security that is still active.
